Tinder Japan opens a special konbini SwipeMart in Shibuya

Tired of just swiping? If you’re hoping for face-to-face interaction instead, Tinder may have just opened Tokyo’s hottest new hangout — or a pickup joint, depending on your intentions. The popular dating app is launching a special offer SwipeMart convenience store on Center Street in Shibuya, minutes from the famous Scramble Crossing.

Although it might seem suspicious as some kind of hookup zone, the konbini Tinder will actually sell exclusive merchandise including special instant noodles, fried chicken, fruit sando, socks, leggings, and logo shirts. iconic flame of Tinder. You know, the usual stuff you’ll find in a konbini.

However, instead of an ATM, SwipeMart will have a Swipe Booth. You can have your profile picture taken at the booth, then swipe right if you like your photo or left to retake your photo.

The store will also host live events including performances by Elle Teresa, Shimamo, Bick and CYK. Tickets for the live shows are free, but you must pre-register to secure a spot. More information here (in Japanese only).

This konbini is adults-only, naturally, so you must be at least 18 or older to enter. SwipeMart is open from From Friday September 16 to Monday September 19. Konbini hours are 12 p.m.-5 a.m. Friday, 10am-5am Saturday and Sundayand 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on bank holiday Monday. This Tinder konbini gives a whole new meaning to “late night snack”.
